New Madrid corporate office announced to support continued growth and hiring
Amazon’s new Spanish headquarters will be located in the upcoming business district of Méndez Álvaro and plans to open in summer 2017. The building, a renovated industrial site from early 20th century, will move our Spain headquarters from Pozuelo de Alarcón to the new 12,000 square meters building in downtown Madrid. The new site will host Amazon’s current 400 corporate employees and provide us with total capacity for over 1,000 professionals as it continues to invest, expand and create new jobs in Spain.

The announcement about expanding Launchpad to France was confirmed by Amazon's Vice President for Corporate Affairs, Jay Carney, at the Viva Tech Conference in Paris.
Amazon to create 500 new high tech jobs in Ireland
Amazon has announced it will create 500 new jobs in Ireland, the latest step in Amazon’s plan to create thousands of European jobs.
It follows the launch of a Development Centre for Prime Air in Austria earlier this month. Since 2010, Amazon has invested over €15bn in Europe and at the start of this year already had more than 40,000 EU employees, with 10,000 jobs created last year alone. Continue reading

For example, we're playing our part to help small firms, with our recently announced European Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) program. This will simplify many of the administrative barriers that discouraged innovative ecommerce businesses from broadening their horizons beyond their home country.
New Austrian Development Center to support Prime Air
Some of the best and brightest minds in the computer vision field are joining us to develop safety features for Prime Air and we're excited to welcome these new Amazonians.
Based at our new Amazon Development Center in Austria, the team will use its experience in computer vision — the discipline of teaching machines how to see — to help develop "sense and avoid" technology for small drones.
