The new Amazon Launchpad store on Amazon.fr is the third Amazon website in Europe featuring products from startups seeking to launch, market, and distribute their products to millions of potential Amazon customers around the world.

The announcement about expanding Launchpad to France was confirmed by Amazon's Vice President for Corporate Affairs, Jay Carney, at the Viva Tech Conference in Paris.

The programme offers startups a streamlined onboarding experience, access to custom product pages on the new Amazon.fr Launchpad store, marketing support to aid in product discovery, and access to Amazon’s global fulfilment network. There are similar stores already up and running in Europe on Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.de

The new Amazon Launchpad store features over 400 innovative products ranging from consumer electronics, connected home and health & well-being, from more than 40 France-based startups. The store offers, among other exciting products, the “Triby” connected home speaker from Invoxia, Prynt’s smartphone case that produces instant photo prints, Dodow’s sleep aid device designed to help people fall asleep faster, new wireless "K’asq" headphones from PKparis, and Homido’s virtual reality helmet.

“Reaching potential customers is key for inventors. Amazon Launchpad makes it easy for startups to launch on Amazon, get noticed by millions of Amazon customers and go international from day one--at startup speed,” said Francois Saugier, Director of EU Seller Services, Amazon.

“French startups are recognized worldwide for their innovation. With a dedicated store on Amazon.fr, our customers can now find a range of cutting-edge items from today’s generation of French inventors,” said Patrick Labarre, Director of Seller Services for Amazon France.

French startups already participating in Amazon Launchpad are enthusiastic about the prospects for growth: "We launched the pre-sales phase of our connected speaker Triby in the US back in September 2015, and from the beginning we used Amazon Launchpad. We are glad Launchpad is now launching on the Amazon.fr marketplace. It will be a true asset for the start-ups of the French Tech ecosystem and a great way for innovative products to get discovered by French speaking customers," said Sébastien de la Bastie, Managing Director at Invoxia.

"The Amazon Launchpad program starts on the Amazon.fr marketplace around the same time as our new product launch of K'asq, the first full wireless headset with five hours of battery life. Being able to list our product on Amazon Launchpad among the best French start-ups is for us a strong sign of trust and a great opportunity to rapidly launch our product throughout Europe and the USA. The Amazon team saves us valuable time in communication and logistics, enabling us to focus on our development," commented Luc Pierart, CEO, PKparis.

Globally, Amazon Launchpad is working with more than 100 venture capital firms, crowdfunding services, and accelerators to help startups offer innovative products to Amazon customers. In France these include Kima Ventures, TheFamily, Ulule, Usine IO, KiskKissBankBank and Hardware Club.

“Amazon Launchpad is a great way for startup companies in France to quickly and easily get their products to a much larger audience than they could ever do alone,” said Vincent Jacobs, Partner at Kima Ventures, a venture capital firm founded and backed by Xavier Niel.

The companies that join Amazon Launchpad will benefit from the following support:

  • Brand Development: Custom product pages showcase unique content that helps bring a startup's brand and products to life through photography and video. A dedicated Q+A section gives founders a chance to tell their story and connect with customers in a more personal and engaging way.
  • Customer Reach: Amazon’s most powerful marketing tools – including on-site merchandise placements, personalized suggestions, and access to advertising – give products added visibility.
  • World-class Fulfilment: Startups also enjoy access to Amazon’s fulfilment network and the possibility to reach out to Amazon Prime customers who benefit from free and unlimited shipping, along with exceptional customer service.
  • Global Expansion: When startups are ready to reach customers outside of their local country, they can use Amazon Launchpad to expand globally to 11 Amazon Marketplaces around the world.
